Coming at full release
The beta doesn't include everything yet. These arrive with the full release, planned for August 2026:
More apps — the Chrome Extension arrives on release day, with a macOS app soon after.
Sync across web, Chrome, and desktop — sign in once and your emoji, lists, and combos follow you everywhere.
A bigger Explore page — Explore is in the beta today with the basics; the full version adds a marketplace of collections to discover and follow.
…and more — additional features we're still polishing for launch.
The beta is open. The first 500 get 50% off Pro for life.
Thanks for being here early. We can't wait to hear what you think. — The EmojiCopy team 💚
DRAFTv23, 2026-07-16 — leadership round 2 (parallel to the v22 reel session — numbering reconciled): (1) "Coming at full release" now leads with the big one — More apps: Chrome Extension on release day, macOS soon after (sync/Explore/more bullets follow); (2) SEO text links added — "JoyPixels" → joypixels.com, "emoji keyboard for the web" → emojicopy.com, and "Chrome Extension" in the apps bullet → the CURRENT Chrome Web Store listing (chromewebstore.google.com/detail/emoji-keyboard-by-joypixe/ipdjnhgkpapgippgcgkfcbpdpcgifncb — the "Emoji Keyboard by JoyPixels®" listing; it upgrades in place to EmojiCopy at release, so one link serves both eras). the editor lifts the links into the Framer CMS manually (rich text supports links natively). v22, 2026-07-16 — reel remade on the designer's NEW demo re-exports (assets/videos/exports/modal 1–5.mp4, added by the editor today; .mov masters + .gifs sit alongside). These are full-frame demo compositions — app window on a dark backdrop, cursor baked in, outcome held on each clip's closing frames — replacing the old cropped 1440×1080 tutorial-modal exports in videos/features/. Everything the crop existed to fix is deleted: crop-box CSS, HOLD_AT leak thresholds, and the 0.9 playback rate — clips play full-length at natural speed, dwell +1.5s on their outcome, advance, loop. The reel is FIVE clips again: new modal 4 is an All Emojis + search-results demo, visually distinct from the My-Emoji clip, so v14's drop rationale (near-identical under the pane-only crop) no longer applies — if the editor still wants four, remove modal 4 from SRCS. Clip map: 1 = multi-select + dynamic copy bar (10.4s) · 2 = save selection to list (5.8s) · 3 = My Emoji tour: recents/combos/lists/collections (9.1s) · 4 = All Emojis + search results w/ copy (5.4s) · 5 = Explore + collection follow (8.6s). ~8.3MB of MP4 total. Framer: FeatureReel.tsx (ZDwQZDf) rewritten to match SAME DAY (the editor go-ahead) — five slots, crop/HOLD_AT/0.9-rate deleted, slot props RENAMED clip1–5/src1–5/dwellMs so the instance's stale old-export overrides (url1–3/url5 expiring temp links, rate 0.9, holdMs 2200) stay orphaned; typecheck passed; multi-agent review caught + fixed 8 bugs pre-push (portal re-anchor freeze, reduced-motion hang, pre-upload spacer div, late-arriving-sources dead state, missing tap-to-unlock autoplay recovery, slow-connection stall truncation). REMAINING (the editor, Framer-UI-only): upload the five mp4s into the File controls — each control's description names its exact file; until then the reel renders nothing and stays out of the article DOM. The ~2026-07-21 temp-link expiry no longer matters (new code never reads the old urls) — the real deadline is the post's July 17 publish date. v21, 2026-07-16 — leadership's plan-spec card bullets, verbatim: Free = Ad-Supported / 6 Collections / 1 Favorites List / Up to 24 Recents; Pro = Ad-free Experience / Unlimited Lists / Unlimited Collections / Expanded Recents / Sorting Recents. The "Everything in Free, plus:" note was DROPPED — the lists are parallel plan specs now, not additive (Free says Ad-Supported, Pro says Ad-free — "plus" would contradict). Framer updated the same day (the editor authorized components only — CTAs + cards): PlanCards code defaults + instance proNote cleared; BetaCTA body "The first 500 get 50% off Pro for life." + button "Try the beta now" (defaults + instance); TopCTA side label "It's free" → "Still free" (defaults + instance). Gotcha hit: a 2026-07-15 session had ALREADY built TopCTA.tsx (ilgFcI7, instance TsFnXgktD) — a duplicate I created got deleted (instance + file); the original was kept and relabeled. the editor handles all CMS text changes manually. v20, 2026-07-16 — flag resolutions per review: (1) "Dynamic Copy Bar" STAYS (leadership's term; the app calls it the Action Bar — do not "fix" the blog to match the app, this was decided); (2) emoji sizes are FREE — all 5, not a Pro feature: "Small & XL emoji sizes" removed from the Pro card here + corrected in PLANS-PRICING.md and copy.md; Framer PlanCards needs the same row removed from "Pro · items" (the editor does it manually in the instance properties panel — the code default still lists it until the next Framer-write session); (3) Pro card keeps "Sync across web, Chrome & desktop" as-is — annual buyers will have it (full-release feature, fine to sell); (4) Explore IS in the beta (barebones) — the Coming-at-full-release bullet now says "A bigger Explore page… in the beta today with the basics", and the reel's Explore clip stays. v19, 2026-07-16 — Framer reconcile + leadership round ("97% there"). Baseline re-pulled from the live CMS first (verbatim copy in drafts/framer-cms-pull-2026-07-16.md — the editor hand-edited it: simplified intro, NEW-prefixed bullets, Free/Pro body copy, reworded offer, title/date changed) and the mockup matched to it; the editor inputs changes into Framer MANUALLY — no Framer writes this round. Leadership changes applied on top: (1) bullets = leadership's 8 NEW-prefixed items, placed ABOVE the ad-free/reel anchor like the live post; (2) free-users hammer in the intro — "nothing has been taken away from free users… Pro just adds more on top"; (3) top CTA label "It's free" → "Still free"; (4) bottom CTA = same bare "Try the beta now" button, free-note removed from the closing line; (5) NEW "Coming at full release" section (August 2026 date moved here from Help-shape): sync across web/Chrome/desktop + Explore marketplace + "…and more" — written for new users; (6) Pro sentence: "additional emoji sizes" removed. OPEN QUESTIONS flagged to the editor: Pro card still lists "Small & XL emoji sizes" + "Sync across web, Chrome & desktop" (are sizes free now? sync sells a full-release feature); reel's last clip demos Explore which is now coming-later; "Dynamic Copy Bar" vs the app's in-app name "Action Bar". v18, 2026-07-16 — PRICE CHANGE per review: Pro is now $5/month · $48/year (was $4/$32; first-500 for-life rate is now $24/yr). Updated here, in the Framer PlanCards (instance prop + code defaults, the editor asked directly), and in PLANS-PRICING.md + copy.md headers. The annual save-% math is now 20% ($60 vs $48) — the old "save 25%" label question in PLANS-PRICING.md is still open. Other handoff surfaces (pricing.html, my-emoji.html paywalls, follow-limit, components.html PaywallPrice example, BUILD-FLAGS-2026-07-13.md) still show $32→$16 and get fixed per-surface when next worked on; pro-modal.html already matched ($48→$24, confirmed 2026-07-15). v17, 2026-07-15 — top CTA de-cluttered per review (the arrow was "atrocious"): button is now bare "Try the beta now" — NO arrow, NO parens — with "It's free" as a small gray label sitting beside the button (.cta-free). Note: the closing "Open the new EmojiCopy →" and the offer card's "Lock in 50% off for life →" keep their arrows — the editor only flagged the top CTA; if the arrows bother them elsewhere, expect that feedback separately. v16, 2026-07-15 — the editor revisions to the v15 pass: (a) removed ALL "founding"/"founding member" wording — the offer is just "first 500 get 50% off for life": badge is now "🔥 First 500 only", button "Lock in 50% off for life", closing line "The first 500 get 50% off Pro for life"; (b) REVERTED the compare cards to their clean v14 state — dropped the in-card Pro tagline and the extended sync bullet (the editor disliked the card changes) and moved the Pro "who it's for" framing into the Free-and-Pro section intro instead; (c) top CTA fixed to "Try the beta now (it's free) →" — dropped the em dash (kept parens + arrow, matching the editor's original note). The offer callout card + above-the-fold CTA placement stay. v15, 2026-07-15 — launch-post conversion pass, following the editor's 4-point feedback: (1) above-the-fold CTA ("Try the beta now — it's free") added right after the intro so eager readers can act without scrolling the whole post; (2) the founding 50%-off deal is now a high-contrast dark callout card (🔥 Founding Member Offer badge + "First 500 members only" tag + big "50% off Pro, for life" + Claim CTA) instead of a buried bullet list — the countdown/spots-remaining ban is LIFTED per review today, so scarcity framing is allowed (static badge, NOT a live depleting meter); (3) the $5 feedback credit now clarifies it's "good toward EmojiCopy Pro whenever you're ready"; (4) Pro reframed around who it's for ("creators, social managers, developers") as a card tagline + the sync bullet now sells the benefit ("never lose your lists switching devices"). Micro-copy: "Free and Pro" now opens with a positive "core experience will always be free" line. House rules kept: saving combos stays FREE (the Pro tagline positions the audience, doesn't gate combos to Pro); no emoji-count selling; the big discount text is white-on-dark with green reserved for the badge + CTA (kept off title text). NOTE: the .offer callout is a styled visual block, not plain rich text — lifting to Framer means building it as an element, not pasting into the CMS body. v14, 2026-07-15 — All Emoji Page clip dropped from the reel: it was near-identical to the My Emoji (Curated Lists & Collections) clip — same emoji-grid layout, differing only in the left sub-list and the active nav tab — so under the pane-only crop the two read as duplicates; only the My Emoji slide is kept. Reel is now four clips (Action Bar → Add to Favorites → Curated Lists / My Emoji → Explore); HOLD_AT [2.3, 0, 2.15, 2.4]. Framer parity TODO: the live FeatureReel still lists five clips — remove the All-Emoji clip there too (its File control + its URL fallback + the matching 2.05 hold value), and upload the four remaining mp4s into the File controls before ~2026-07-21 (the temp Figma export links expire then; File props are Framer-UI-only — the MCP cannot set them). v13, 2026-07-14 — traction flex added per review (official numbers): "over 500,000 people use it every month, millions every year" woven into the intro paragraph as the why-we-rebuilt — usage numbers are the approved flex (library-size counts stay banned). Also mirrored into the Framer CMS. Framer same-day fixes: portal components now anchor only into the VISIBLE breakpoint tree (cards/reel were mounting inside the hidden desktop copy on tablet/phone), parked instances render as small canvas chips, and the Keep Reading blog card repeat item is width 1fr (was fixed 386.5px — broke tablet grid alignment). v12 (same day) — editorial ending per review ("feels like an ad"): the dark cta-block banner is GONE; the article now closes in its own voice — "The beta is open." sentence + green button left-aligned on the page bg, then the signoff. Mirrored in Framer the same day (the editor asked directly): BetaCTA.tsx rewritten to this exact treatment (no dark card / glow / emoji chips), FeatureReel.tsx updated to the chromeless pane crop + leak-safe holds + loop, NEW PlanCards.tsx (Free/Pro checkmark cards, slug-gated, portals under the "Free and Pro" H2 — instance cYX1l61cM in the blog template), and the empty placeholder H2 was removed from the CMS item. Framer still needs: the five reel URLs re-pointed at uploaded files before ~2026-07-21 (temp Figma links; File controls must be set in the Framer UI, MCP can't), and an eyeball pass in Framer preview (post is a DRAFT — staging won't render it). v11 (same day) — left-edge leak fixed per the spec screenshots: in clips 3-5 the final payoff slide moves un-tinted app chrome (cut nav/search fragments) across the demo pane's left edge — "coming out of the tint". Measured the leak per clip by sampling video frames in-browser (strip x 530-590: clip 3 ramps from ~2.43s, clip 4 ~2.33s, clip 5 ~2.67s; clips 1-2 clean full-length), and HOLD_AT now stops each clip before its ramp (2.15 / 2.05 / 2.4). All five holds visually verified clean. Trade-off, on purpose: the payoff tails of clips 3-4 are skipped — under a pane-only crop they're exactly the broken-looking frames; if the payoff matters later, ask the designer for pane-only re-exports instead of loosening the crop. v10 (same day) — video cropped to ONLY the moving demo per review: nothing on screen but the demo pane — the baked-in modal sidebar ("New EmojiCopy Features" title + feature nav), caption line, and Close/Get Started buttons are all cropped out. Geometry pulled from Figma (Website 7-14, demo-stage node 7633:53503: 742×364 at (525.5,282) in the 1440×1080 frame) — exact numbers in the .reel-stage CSS comment. All #0F1112 patch overlays + the "2026 updates" eyebrow are deleted (everything they hid is outside the crop; clip 3's stale "Improved Search" nav label is cropped out too, so the designer re-export is no longer blocking the blog). If the crop ever needs re-deriving, measure the node in Figma — don't eyeball the export. v9 (same day) — skim pass per review: the "Either way" pull box is GONE (the editor hates it — auto-apply is now one plain sentence under the founding bullets; never bring the green callout box back); the four benefit-led feature H2 sections are CUT (too many sections, too much text — features live in the ✅ checklist and the video); the reel is chromeless — no bordered box, no tab buttons, just the bare video auto-looping all five feature clips (crop + #0F1112 patches kept: they hide baked-in UI in the export). Structure now: intro → video → Everything new ✅ → Free and Pro cards → founding deal → feedback → CTA. When lifting: configure FeatureReel to match (no tabs/chrome) if the component supports it. v8 (same day) — emoji-count claims stripped per review: never sell the library size ("3,600+") anywhere — the value is quick lists, saved combos, a better keyboard; usage proof (42M sent in 2024) stays. Rule is now in DESIGN-PRINCIPLES.md house rules. Blog only for now — tweets/copy deck/launch assets still contain counts and get cleaned when each surface is next worked on, not in a bulk pass. v7 (same day) — REBUILT on the ChatGPT draft the editor approved (pasted in full, evening 2026-07-14): intro verbatim from the editor's original (lead flex → 42M → "needed to catch up" → "So we started over" → rebuilt ¶) → ad-free line + reel → four benefit-led sections (Find faster / Save combos / Make it your own / Wherever you type) → "Everything new in the beta" ✅ checklist → "Free and Pro" cards → "Get 50% off EmojiCopy Pro" founding deal → "Help shape what comes next". HARD: the per-feature OLD/NEW tag-row format is DEAD — never reintroduce it. The "old vs new" requirement is met by the narrative contrast inside the sections ("The old EmojiCopy gave everyone the same set of categories…") plus the ONE everything-new checklist. Deviations from the pasted ChatGPT text are fact fixes only: smart-list creation and sync marked Pro; saving combos stays Free (Pro = unlimited + recents — the editor's pasted "original" Free/Pro block predates this correction, don't regress); founding bullets phrased "Everyone after…" (no spots-are-gone wording); prices $4/mo · $32/yr; $5 credit; August 2026. Drafts policy per review: ALWAYS cp the current file into comms/drafts/ before editing this one — v6 (rows version) and the full 2026-07-14 edit history are already archived there. Lifting into the Framer CMS: ✅ lists paste as plain lists; keep the exact phrase "Ad-free for the whole beta" in the paragraph right before the reel — it's the FeatureReel component's anchorText in the blog template, and the reel mounts after whichever paragraph contains it. Swap the date/CTA link before going live. The feature reel plays the five in-app demo clips from Figma (Features - Modals → Tutorial Modals - 3 - Animated) in sequence — ~10MB of MP4 in ../assets/videos/features/; compress or re-export before publishing (the Framer instance's temp Figma URLs expire ~2026-07-21). The green-dot pill, the Close/Get Started buttons, and the "50% off For Life" nav item are baked into the video, so flat #0F1112 overlays cover them (plain "2026 updates" text replaces the pill — pill is being removed site-wide). Playback: the five clips advance automatically, pausing ~2s on each feature's outcome frame, and loop forever — no controls.
